About the dictionary

Where the data comes from

Meanings, word forms, pronunciation, synonyms and antonyms come from Wiktionary, the free dictionary written by volunteers, under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license.

Example sentences and their translations come from Tatoeba, a collection of sentences translated by volunteers, under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 France license. The author of each sentence is shown when you point at it.

How it is processed

Forms and conjugation are taken only from the source tables, never guessed: if a tense is missing in the data, it is not shown.

When two sources give the same translation, it is shown once. Grammar notes the article and forms already state are left out of the meanings.

Related words are shown only when the dictionary has a page for them.

Using the content

You may quote and reuse the content under the same licenses: name WordWide with a link to the word page, and keep the license of the source.
